The LJC extends a warm welcome to everyone to the new academic year. The different working groups of the Centre have worked hard over the past months to provide a diverse and exciting set of events this year, including an Inaugural LJC Meeting in September. This is to stimulate the main goals of the LJC to bring together the molecular and materials modelling community here in the wider Cambridge area. An overview of the planned activities can be found below. Furthermore, we have extended our social media presence to Twitter and YouTube. Feel free to follow us to receive further information and watch recordings of past events. Finally, we would like to ask all PI's to forward this information to new members in your groups and encourage them to sign up for this Mailing List. We're looking forward to a successful year with all of you! Best wishes, The Management Team |

Events during Michaelmas

Discussion GroupThe LJC discussion group will run this term every Monday at 2 pm from October 3rd to December 5th. The first Monday of each month will have an in-person component, while the remaining DG's will be held via Zoom. The organising team is composed of Jerelle Joseph, Venkat Kapil, Christoph Schran, and Michele Simoncelli. Chuck Witt and Stephen Cox have decided to step down from their role in the organising team to concentrate on other LJC initiatives. We would like to give them a big thanks for their invaluable commitment over the last year! Recordings of selected talks will be made available on YouTube thanks to Bartomeu Monserrat's support. As announced earlier this week, the first event will be held next Monday, October 3rd, at 2 pm in the Goldsmiths 1 lecture room in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy. We're looking forward to seeing many of you next week. |
